The ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms) is attempting to identify a male suspect who committed a B&E and arson at the Sport Systems Bag Corporation, 44 Hazel St., Woonsocket, R.I.
On Friday, 4/5/2019, at approximately 1:24 AM, the Woonsocket Fire Department responded to the business on a report of fire. Once extinguished, the R.I. State Fire Marshal's Office found the fire to be incendiary and suspicious in nature.
Video surveillance recovered from the scene depicted a white male suspect unlawfully entering the building and rummaging around various parts of the business. The suspect was then observed taking down an American flag which was hanging on the wall and folding it in military fashion. He then placed the flag inside his backpack.
The suspect is described as a thin white male with glasses and short hair, wearing a purple bandanna on his head and another hanging from his pants. He was also wearing a purple shirt and long chain around his neck. He eventually removes his hooded coat and walks around a different section of the business before leaving.
A reward of up to $5,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest/conviction of the person(s) involved.
