The West Warwick Police Department is attempting to identify a female suspect involved in a confidence game where they defrauded a victim out of thousands in West Warwick, R.I.

A Spanish speaking female suspect, along with a male suspect, approached an elderly Hispanic female while at the Center of New England Walmart. The pair convinced the elderly female victim that they had won the lottery, but claimed they could not collect the money because they were in the country illegally.

They two suspects said they needed to obtain a certain amount of "tax" money to collect the winnings. They followed the elderly female victim to a bank in West Warwick where they asked her to withdraw thousands of dollars promising to split the winnings with her.

After receiving the money, they got in their car (unknown type) and drove away.
