The Cranston Police Department is attempting to identify a male suspect involved in a home invasion that took place during the during the late morning hours on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at the Meshanicut House Apartments, 630 Oaklawn Ave., Cranston, RI.
The suspect was described as a white male 5'10'' - 6'0 tall wearing dark pants, blue hooded sweatshirt and a grey colored bandana. The suspect fled into the wooded area behind the apartment complex after committing the crime.
The suspect fled down Blossom Drive where he changed his clothing which was later located behind a nearby residence. He was captured on video surveillance running past a local business and seen entering a light colored pickup truck.
The suspect vehicle is further described as a 2010-2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup, possibly silver, with an extended cab. The suspect vehicle had a dark colored Chevy emblem on the front grill, which is somewhat rare, and the yellow Chevy emblem under the rear tailgate handle, 2-tone side mirrors, with possible "Z71 4x4" stickers over the wheel wells. The also has two unknown stickers on each side of the rear window.
The vehicle then fled south on Oaklawn Avenue.
