On April 19th, 2023, Three black subjects entered Dick's Sporting Goods in Smithfield and purchased over $1,000 in golf clubs using counterfeit $100 bills (Serial #PL61356645B and ML85851607C). Two of the suspects were wearing hats and what appear to be hospital style COVID masks. The suspects appear to be two (2) males and one (1) female. Shortly after, the suspects attempted to return the items at Dick's Sporting Goods in Warwick, Rhode Island. On April 20th, 2023, The same suspects returned the golf clubs to Dick's Sporting Goods in Queens, New York and left in Pennsylvania Registration LZM6644, which is a white Toyota Avalon. These same suspects are possibly responsible for similar activity in Warwick and North Smithfield, RI.
