The Smithfield Police is attempting to identify 3 suspects involved in the theft of a wallet at Dave's Market and fraudulent use of credit cards at Target a short time later.
On Saturday, 8/8/20, the victim stated her wallet was stolen out of her purse while shopping at Dave's Market. It was learned that her credit cards were used a short time later at the Target within the same plaza. The suspects allegedly purchased $1029.92 worth of gift cards.
It appears three males were involved with a well-orchestrated plan where suspect #1 took the wallet out of the victim's cart while the other two stood watch. Suspect #3 later used the cards at Target. They were observed arriving and leaving in a white SUV. They also changed their clothing while in the SUV.
Suspect #1: White male, heavy set, 30-40s, white plaid shirt, tan pants, grey flag with an American flag, brown hair with a possible man bun, possible tattoo on the inside left forearm.
Suspect #2: White male, orange plaid shirt, black shorts, black scally cap, arm brace to the right arm, possible tattoo on the inside left forearm.
Suspect #3: White male, medium build, blue collared shirt, shorts, red/white/blue baseball hat, red face mask.
These suspects may be involved in an organized criminal ring operating in the region.
