The Smithfield Police Department is attempting to identify a male suspect who committed a robbery at Navigant Bank, 468 Putnam Pike, Smithfield, RI.

On June 11, 2020 at approximately 11:45AM, an unidentified male suspect entered the bank and approached a teller, demanding “100s, 50s, 20s.” No weapon was shown. The male suspect obtained an undetermined amount of cash and fled the bank on foot in a westbound direction.

The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male, approximately 5’6” tall with a medium build and in his later 20s to early 30s. He was wearing a blue face mask, black hooded sweatshirt, a dark colored baseball hat, jeans, and white sneakers.

A similar incident happened early in the day in Cumberland and the suspect may be responsible for both incidents.
