The Johnston Police Department is attempting to identify a male suspect who committed a larceny from OPTX Rhode Island, 12778 Hartford Ave., Johnston, R.I.
On Friday, 05/15/2020, an unidentified male suspect entered OPTX Rhode Island and was met by a store employee who was screening for COVID-19 symptoms. The male suspect identified himself as “Jefferson Perez.” The suspect then browsed the shelves trying on several set of frames. After few moments, the suspect grabbed eight (8) pairs of glass frames and sprinted out the door. The suspect was seen jumping into a silver SUV with an unknown operator.
The male suspect who entered the store was described as skinny dark skinned male, in his 20’s with a white surgical mask coving his face, wearing a white Nike T-shirt, destressed blue jeans, and white PUMA sneakers.
A similar incident may have occurred in North Providence.

On 6/15/20, the Johnston Police Department arrested the suspect in this case. He is identified as:
WILLIAM MCNALLY (19), with addresses in Cranston and Lincoln.
