The Rhode Island State Police are attempting to identify a black male suspect involved in the theft and fraudulent use of credit cards that occurred in several jurisdictions.
Sometime between 7/8 and 7/9/2016, the victim's vehicle was broken into in the Town of North Kingstown. The victim's backpack was stolen along with the victim's wallet which contained several credit cards.
On Tuesday, 7/9/16, the credit cards were fraudulently used at several Walgreen's in Providence, Johnston, and Cranston. In all videos the male appeared to be using a cell phone while he purchased several gift cards along with personal products.
The suspect in all the video surveillance was described as a black male, approximately 5’11" to 6’0" tall, and 175 lbs. The male suspect was wearing black pants, a black shirt, a black jacket, and a black and grey hat.
UPDATE:
9/1/2016: Rhode Island State Police obtained informationand additional surveillance photos from Narragansett Police regarding a similar incident with the same suspect. The updated photos involve the same suspect makeing fraudulent purchases at Home Depot in Seekonk, MA., and at a Walmart.
It was also learned that this suspect has hit many Lowe's and Home Depot stores from Westerly, RI to North Attleboro, MA. He usually makes large fraudulent credit card purchases and also buys gift cards.
A suspect vehicle was also developed: 2005-2008 Chev. Astro Van color white with unknown registration. The vehicle also has roof ladders attached.
