The Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force is attempting to identify a suspect who eluded troopers and obtained a license with false information from the RI Department of Motor Vehicles.
On 7/22/16, uniform troopers stopped the suspect for a routine motor vehicle violation on Rt 95 north in West Greenwich. The suspect was operating a black Chevrolet with a Massachusetts registration. The suspect presented a RI license which identified himself as Fernando Rodriguez Jaime (29) from Eddy St in Providence. The operator was asked to step out of his vehicle and then fled in his vehicle in a reckless and dangerous manner.
Investigation has revealed that the suspect entered the United States through Puerto Rico, then traveled to Pennsylvania, and then utilizing false information to obtain a license in Rhode Island.
The true identity of the suspect is unknown but is most likely in R.I. under the above alias. He may also be using additional aliases such as:
Fernando Jaime, Fernando Rodriguez, Jaime Fernando, or Jaime Rodriguez.
CAPTURED:
The Rhode Island State Police report the capture of the suspect in this case. He was identified as:
GABRIEL NUNEZ (29) from Boston, MA.
NUNEZ was arrested by the Braintree MA Police Department and is currently held on bail.
