IDENTIFIED:
The Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force is attempting to locate a wanted fugitive.
On Saturday, 9/3/2016, the Cranston Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Rt 10 near exit 2A to Rt 95. The vehcile stopped was a red Chevy Malibu with the operator being identified as ALBERTO RIVERA (40). During the course of the stop, RIVERA became nervous most likely because he knew he was wanted on an active domestic simple assault warrant. RIVERA abruptly fled in the vehicle with the police officer's hand being struck by the pillar of the door in the process.

Cranston Police have an active warrants for RIVERA for Felony Assault on a Police Officer and Reckless Driving,
RIVERA is a hispanic male, 40 years of age, 5'8" tall, 197 lbs., with brown hair and eyes.
CAPTURED:
RIVERA taken into custody on Friday 12/16/16 by RI State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force and U.S. Marshals, with assistance from Brockton Massachusetts P.D., Massachusetts State Police VFAS unit. RIVERA is facing Massachusetts fugitive charges and is also pending charges from Cranston and Providence Police Departments in RI.
