ESCAPEE / CAPTURED
The Rhode Island State Police is attempting to locate an escapee from the Adult Correctional Institution (ACI) in Cranston, R.I.
The escapee is identified as:
RONY ALBERTO MARTINEZ-PEREYRA (44) from Cranston, R.I.
He is described as a Hispanic male, 6' 2" tall, 250 lbs., balding and brown eyes. He has tribal tattoos on his right arm/shoulder area along with "Crystal" on his left arm.
MARTINEZ-PEREYRA fled on foot from the ACI grounds on 3/2/2017 at approximately10 AM and may have gotten into a waiting vehicle.
MARTINEZ-PEREYRA was serving time for weapons and drug offenses. He has numerous contacts in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
He also uses several aliases including "TOMAS COTTO" and "GENARO MORANT" to which he may possess false identifications for.
CAPTURED:
The Rhode Island State Police report the capture of the suspect in this case who escaped from the ACI. MARTINEZ-PEREYRA was captured in Lawrence, MA. on 3/21/17 with the coordinated efforts of the Rhode Island State Police Violent Fugitive Task Force, Rhode Island Department of Corrections, Massachusetts State Police, Lawrence Police Department, and the U.S. Marshals Service.
