The Rhode Island State Police is attempting to identify a suspect involved in a check fraud scheme who made several fraudulent check deposits and withdrawals at the Citizens Bank ATM located on 1477 Broad Street, Providence, Rhode Island.

The suspect made fraudulent deposits and withdrawals on October 12, 2016 and March 9, 2017 to and from various Citizens Bank accounst in which he was not authorized to do so.

The accounts were funded with counterfeit checks. The funds were withdrawn from the account prior to the checks being returned as counterfeit. Most transactions took place at the Washington Park branch where the victim also banks.

The Rhode Island State Police have identified the suspect in this case as:

STEFAN C. GAYE (26), with a last known address in Providence, R.I.

CAPTURED:

On 3/7/18, the Rhode Island State Police report that they have captured the suspect in this case identified as STEFAN GAYE.
